This blog is named “University and 4th” after the cross streets in Tucson, AZ.
Having spent countless hours working, reading and reflecting at the Epic Cafe (southwest corner of these cross streets), I often found myself looking at the University Blvd. and 4th Avenue sign. I am still amused by how this sign signifies a certain “stage” in our lives. A phase, characterized by 25+ years of existence, 4-5 years post graduation and a time when everyone around you seems to be questioning their direction in life. Personally, the four years after graduating from college have been a period of tremendous personal and professional growth. However, like those around me I seem to have gone through my fair share of quarter life crisis.
I always felt that a photograph of the cross streets “University and 4th” would make an excellent cover for a book about reflections of an 25-26 year. After all, there is no pre-requisite that one has to be old, retired or dead to release autobiographical accounts.
Through this blog I intend to rant about my observations and experiences and talk about issues that pertain to the Millennials. Ocasionally, I will post some of my “works”, mostly in form of poetry that were written over the past few years to bring more flavor to this blog (and claim my fame as a published poet/writer).
Please feel free to share your thoughts and experiences on this subject.
